At sundown, this evening, the 14th day of Aviyv starts, which is the Pecach of Yahuah.
Thousands of years ago, Pecach - also called Passover - was instituted by Yahuah Elohaynu (a name substituted with 'the LORD our God' in most translations) when He was about to lead His people, the children of Ya'aqov (Jacob), out of Mitsrayim (Egypt).
A spotless lamb, that had been in the house of the people's families for 4 days, had to be sacrificed, and the blood applied to the door-lintels and door-posts of the houses of the families, to be the sign to Yahuah to pass over that house, when going through the land to strike the firstborn of man and beast as the 10th plague happened, also as a judgement because of their idolatry.
From that day on this event had to be remembered with this memorial throughout their generations.
Some 2000 years ago, Yahusha HaMashiach - Who is known to most as Jesus Christ - and His Talmidiym (Disciples) celebrated the Pecach the night before He would be crucified as the Lamb of Yahuah, fulfilling the truest and deepest meaning of the Pecach event.
"And when the hour was come, He sat down, and the twelve apostles with Him. And He said unto them, "With desire I have desired to eat this Pecach with you before I suffer: for I say unto you, I will not anymore eat thereof, until it be fulfilled in the Kingdom of Elohiym."
And He took the cup, and gave thanks, and said, "Take this, and divide it among yourselves: For I say unto you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine, until the Kingdom of Elohiym shall come." And He took the bread, and gave thanks, and broke it, and gave unto them, saying, "This is My body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of Me." Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, "This cup is the Renewed Covenant in My blood, which is shed for you."
Pecach - Passover - is the sacrifice of Yahuah's Pecach Lamb. It is also called the day of preparation before Chag Matstsah - the Feast of Unleavened Bread.
The Feast of Matstsah was also fulfilled by Yahusha HaMashiach, as His death was in our place, because we all deserves to die as punishment for our iniquities. He died to deliver us from this punishment, and set us free from our guilt.
After three days and three nights in the grave, He rose from the dead, and became the First Fruit of all who will receive eternal life in the end, an d in this way fulfilled Bikoor, First Fruits.
Fifty days later, the Ruach HaQodesh - the Holy Spirit - was poured out on the gathered believers, who in obedience were waiting for this event in an upper-room, during Shavuot.
It is believed by many that these are the feasts that have been fulfilled by Yahusha in His first coming to our world, and that He will fulfil the last three when He comes for a second time.
True Talmidiym of Yahusha HaMashiach are with desire looking forward to that moment, which is very, very near now!
Have a wonderful, and very blessed, celebration of Pecach, Matstsah, and Bikoor!
