"No Other Land" Oscar winner Yuval Abraham says his co-director Hamdan Ballal has been beaten and attacked. “A group of settlers just lynched Hamdan Ballal, co-director of our film ‘No Other Land,'” Abraham posted on X. “They beat him and he has injuries in his head and stomach, bleeding. Soldiers invaded the ambulance he called, and took him. No sign of him since.”
The alleged attack comes just three weeks after “No Other Land” won the Academy Award for best documentary. On stage, directors Abraham, Ballal, Basel Adra and Rachel Szor took the opportunity to call attention to the destruction happening in Gaza.

"Middle East Eye", an independent media outlet, reported this on 24 March 2025 as follows:
Hamdan Ballal, the co-director of the Academy Award-winning film, No Other Land, has been attacked and lynched in the occupied West Bank by Israeli settlers, according to media reports.
Ballel is alive, according to reports on X, but his whereabouts are not known.
Israeli soldiers took him from an ambulance that he called after the attack.
From comments on this post on their community tab of their YouTubes channel:
When they did this, this would mean that they inadvertently and indirectly admitted that all of the things shown in the film were true.
Can you imagine what would happen if Palestinians did this to the Israeli co-director of this movie?
He probably knew he was risking his life. All respect to this hero. He shouldn’t have been made a martyr.
"God's chosen people" doing the Synagogue of Satan thing again!
I saw this documentary and prayed that Israel would not retaliate with the people who made it as they still live in the West Bank.
The most moral....wait they have the Hannibal and Samson protocol...that tells you all you need to know.
Once again, they confess their illegitimacy through their actions.
You know they made a massive mistake, with the way this situation is sure to be publicized and widely known; considering everyone knows about the film and more people will watch it now too!
No other media reported this. Why?
Keep reporting so the world knows!
