43 - (22 Aug 2017) How the US Helped Set 'Ukraine on Fire' - The Real News Network

The documentary "Ukraine on Fire" from producer Oliver Stone tells the hidden story of

how the ongoing conflict began, including the pivotal US role.

Ukraine's 2014 Maidan Massacre helped oust President Yanukovych with Russia painted

as the perpetrator. Oliver Stone interviews Russian President Vladimir Putin, Yanukovych

and others exposing the role the U.S. played in destabilizing the region.

Ukraine. Across its eastern border is Russia and to its west—Europe. For centuries, it has

been at the center of a tug-of-war between powers seeking to control its rich lands and

access to the Black Sea. 2014’s Maidan Massacre triggered a bloody uprising that ousted

president Viktor Yanukovych and painted Russia as the perpetrator by Western media.

But was it? “Ukraine on Fire” by Igor Lopatonok provides a historical perspective for the

deep divisions in the region which lead to the 2004 Orange Revolution, 2014 uprisings,

and the violent overthrow of democratically elected Yanukovych. Covered by Western

media as a people’s revolution, it was in fact a coup d’état scripted and staged by

nationalist groups and the U.S. State Department. Investigative journalist Robert Parry

reveals how U.S.-funded political NGOs and media companies have emerged since the

80s replacing the CIA in promoting America’s geopolitical agenda abroad. Executive

producer Oliver Stone gains unprecedented access to the inside story through his on-

camera interviews with former President Viktor Yanukovych and Minister of Internal

Affairs, Vitaliy Zakharchenko, who explain how the U.S. Ambassador and factions in

Washington actively plotted for regime change. And, in his first meeting with Russian

President Vladimir Putin, Stone solicits Putin’s take on the significance of Crimea, NATO

and the U. S’s history of interference in elections and regime change in the region.

Guardian

In Ukraine, the far-right Azov militia is fighting on the frontline – and running a summer

camp for children.

The Guardian visited the camp and followed 16-year-old Anton through his experiences.

Is the Azov battalion really creating a modern Hitler Youth organisation, or is it trying to

prepare young Ukrainians for the tough reality that awaits them?

Max Blumenthal reports that the US has provided military assistance to the Azov

Battalion, known as a bastion of neo-Nazism within the Ukrainian armed forces. He also

On September 27, 2018, Yale's Program in Russian, East European and Eurasian Studies,

and the Poynter Fellowship for Journalism hosted Vladimir Pozner, the acclaimed

Russian-American journalist and broadcaster. Pozner spoke on the impact of US foreign

policy towards Russia after the Soviet Union has been disbanded, and shared his

opinions on a range of issues raised by the audience, from the alleged Russian

interference in the 2016 US presidential elections, to Skripal poisoning, to the state of

independent media in Russia and the US.

49 - (14 Aug 2020) - The Animated History of Ukraine - Suibhne

The nation who whose very name means Borderland has been home to nomads for

millenia. As a pawn in the games of larger European powers, how did Ukraine become

the complex geopolitical entity it is today? Cossacks, Tatars, Mongols and Vikings only

scratch the surface of this ancient land.

Because of the, in my opinion, impostance of this piece of history to understand the

current situation of Ukraine, I supply here also my copy of it:

Launchers - FUNKER530 - Veteran Community & Combat Footage

Ukrainian forces buzzed Russian proxy trench positions at extremely low altitudes with a

small recreational helicopter drone and identified Russian POM-2 landmine launchers

and new trench positions not previously known to the Ukrainian units.

Flying the drone low over enemy positions actually poses less risk to the unmanned

aircraft. By the time the device is detected by the enemy, it has already buzzed out of

sight. Drones observing from high overhead can be engaged by ground units as they

remain in view for longer periods of time.

POM-2 mines have been used with increasing frequency by the Russians in ongoing

conflicts. POM-2 anti personnel mines are delivered into position by various weapons

systems. In this video, we see an actual launcher rack specifically designed for

emplacing the devices. However, the POM-2 can also be launched into position over

greater ranges with modified RPG-7 warheads and 82mm mortar rounds. Given the

current ranged trench stalemate in Ukraine, being able to launch landmines from friendly

positions to behind enemy lines makes the POM-2 a practical choice. However, the fire-

and-forget application of these mines will make them an indiscriminate danger for

decades to come.

Ukrainians that fought for Germany during the Second World War. In this video I explore

the collaboration in German-occupied Ukraine during World War 2. Why did Ukrainians

collaborate with Germany? In this video I will talk about the origins of Ukrainian

ultranationalism and factions as the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists (OUN) and its

split: the OUN-M led by Andrei Melnik and the OUN-B led by Stepan Bandera. Their

military wing became the Ukrainian Insurgent Army (UPA). The Ukrainian Legion

consisted of two battalions: the Nachtigall Battalion and the Roland Battalion. In 1943 the

Ukrainian SS Division was established: the 14th SS-Volunteer Division "Galicia". The

Ukrainian Liberation Army (UVV) was the collective name for all Ukrainian units serving

with the German Army during World War II. As the Germans recognized Ukrainain

independence the Ukrainian National Army (UNA) was established, led by Pavlo

Shandruk. If you want to learn about Ukraine during WW2, this video is for you.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree to send what he is describing as

"peacekeeping troops" into the separatist regions of Luhansk and Donetsk. The decision

comes after Putin recognized both regions as independent states and described Ukraine

as ancient Russian territory. The move could mark a significant escalation amid fears

Russia could soon launch a full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

Russia's recognition of Ukraine's rebel regions has drawn differing views within Ukraine.

Kyiv residents have refused to accept it while Donetsk celebrated the move.

The Second Perspective

1. Klaus Schwab says that Vladimir Putin was a past Young Global Leaders of the World

Economic Forum.

2. The Freedom Convoy is rolling through America and people are regaining some

semblance of unity as they demand their God-given rights – a demand that risks eroding

the elites control over the public.

3. Coincidentally, the 8-year period of quiet tension between Ukraine and Russia

suddenly ends and mainstream media focuses entirely on what’s (maybe) going on

overseas.

Clearly, this is not a distraction. Though "War is Deception", it most certainly is not a

puppet show ... right?

manipulated? And if yes - WHY? Are we headed for World War 3? What's the big picture

here?

Freddie Sayers meets Justin Bronk.

It has been a week since the Russian invasion of Ukraine and one of many unanswered

questions is why Russia has yet to launch the vast majority of its combat aircraft, despite

having an advantage over the comparatively small Ukrainian air force. Could Putin be

holding back the full might of his army for tactical or political reasons? Or is this failure to

launch a symptom of poor planning by the Kremlin?

To seek out some technical expertise on this topic, Freddie Sayers spoke to Justin

Bronk, Research Fellow for Military Airpower at the Royal United Services Institute.

Ukrainian forces fought off Russian troops in the capital Kyiv on Friday as the United

States, European Union and Britain announced personal sanctions against Russia's

President Vladimir Putin. Putin unleashed a full-scale invasion on Thursday that has killed

dozens of people, forced more than 50,000 to flee Ukraine in just 48 hours and sparked

fears of a new Cold War in Europe.

In a statement on the invasion of Ukraine, Russian President Vladimir Putin has said

Ukrainians and Russians are "one people" but that Ukrainians are "threatened and

brainwashed".

Mr Putin also praised his soldiers as "real heroes".

Reports from France say Vladimir Putin told France's President Macron he planned to

take the whole of Ukraine. Officials say they believe the "worst is yet to come".

In a telephone conversation between the two leaders, it was reported Macron told Putin

he was "deluded".

Russia has expanded its crackdown on independent media in the country, ensuring

Russians only receive one narrative of what the war is about and how it is going.

How did Ukraine proclaimed independence in 1918? After the Russian Revolution (1917)

the Ukrainian People's Republic (also known as the Ukrainian National Republic; the

UNR) was established. When Bolshevik Russia and Germany signed the Treaty of Brest-

Litovsk it left Ukraine in the German sphere of influence with Pavlo Skoropadskyi as

Hetman of Ukraine. Apart from the UNR the West Ukrainian People's Republic was

established in Eastern Galicia. This republic was soon overrun by the Polish forces in the

Polish–Ukrainian War (1918 - 1919). Meanwhile White Russian troops fought against the

Red (as part of the Russian Civil War). The White Russian forces were attacked by the

Black Army of Nestor Machno who had an area called the Free Territory of Ukraine

(Makhnovshchina).
