This Live streaming is/was a continuous rotating video, which might be published as a separate video later.
The description box of this stream reads: Israel has expressed willingness to exchange hundreds of Palestinian prisoners, including convicted terrorists, for the release of 98 remaining hostages held by Hamas. While a ceasefire deal mediated by Qatar and the U.S. is reportedly accepted by Hamas, Israel’s government faces backlash from far-right ministers who threaten to topple the coalition. Opposition leader Yair Lapid has offered conditional support to stabilize the government if needed.
Because I don't know what the channel will do with its video, I have made a recording of its message, which I present here:
The spoken parts of the video were, and still are, hard to hear. But I managed to write most of the message of the video out and present it it to you hereunder:
Text from rotating Live Streaming Video by Times Of India:
Has Israel accepted ceasefire deal with Hamas?
David Mencer, Israel’s Government Spokesman: “Israel is prepared to pay a heavy price to get our people home, all of them, 98 remaining. Israel is prepared to pay a heavy price in the hundreds [of Palestinian prisoners in exchange for hostages].”
Israel says, ‘ready to pay heavy price’.
Netanyahu rushes to save his government amid right-wing backlash.
Israel says it is ready to pay a heavy price for release of remaining hostages.
Israeli spokesperson confirms the government is working to free 98 remaining hostages.
The comments come as Hamas reportedly accepted a ceasefire deal mediated by Qatar & U.S.
David Mencer: “Yes, there are 33 hostages that we want released. We’ve said that this is the humanitarian phase one of this deal and they include women, people that are ill, the elderly. I shared with you (over my shoulder) the picture of the Bibas children. That’s why we’re fighting this war for heaven’s sake. The Bibas children, age five and one, Kefir and Ariel Bibas.”
“When it comes to Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails, we’re talking about convicted terrorists. Those are the people which Hamas wants released. Convicted terrorists.
I won’t share too much details with you now, but I will say that Israel is prepared to pay a heavy price to get our people home, all of them, 98 remaining.
Israel is prepared to pay a heavy price in the hundreds, in the hundreds.”
Meanwhile, Israeli opposition leader Yair Lapid offered to support Netanyahu government in case the far-right ministers resign and withdraw support over the ceasefire deal.
Minister Ben Gvir threatened to resign if hostage deal with Hamas is finalized.
Ben Gvir criticized any ceasefire as a surrender deal that compromises security.
Ben Gvir also called on far-right minister Smotrich to join him toppling the coalition.
Smotrich also condemned the hostage agreement and calling it a national security catastrophe.
However, the ministers faced backlash over calls to stop ceasefire talks and resume strikes.
Majed al-Ansari, Qatar’s Foreign Ministry Spokesman: “We are … We do believe we are in a developed stage; we do believe we are in the final stages. But certainly, we are hopeful that this will very soon be revealed.”
Hamas accepts Gaza hostage-ceasefire deal.
‘Very soon’: mediators on Israel-Hamas deal.
Major hurdles passed, but…: inside details.
Hamas has reportedly accepted a ceasefire draft for Gaza with hostage release included in talks.
Qatar said negotiations are at the closest point to a final agreement
Majed al-Ansari, Qatar’s foreign Ministry Spokesman:
“The main reason why (Unclear what is said). As I said, during the last months there were underlying issues, major issues, between the parties, on the results. These issues were resolved during the talks in the past couple of weeks, and therefore we have reached the point where the major issues that were preventing these things from happening were addressed and we have language about these issues that solved these issues between both parties.
Associated Press confirmed the authenticity of the draft agreement through several sources.
U.S., Qatar, and Egypt have mediated to end the 15-month-long conflict in Gaza.
Israeli cabinet must give final approval to the three-phase ceasefire proposal.
The agreement includes release of hostages and Palestinian prisoners in exchange phases.
Phase One:
- Israel will withdraw from population centres and allow humanitarian aid
Phase Two:
- Israel retains control over Philadephi corridor, but leaves the Netzarim corridor in Gaza
- Hamas will release male soldier hostages
- Israel will completely withdraw from Gaza if second-phase terms are fully implemented.
Phase Three:
- Hamas returns remaining hostage bodies
- International reconstruction plan for Gaza
Both Israel and Hamas face pressure to reach a deal before Trump’s inauguration next week.
Donald Trump’s envoy joined mediators in Doha and reported progress towards final ceasefire.
Trump states that a handshake agreement is close and could finish this week.
My comments:
David Mencer, the Israeli Government Spokesman, expressed several an opinion that is based on his government's stance on people and events occurring in the area of his homeland. Netanyahu's own words, about the war he's fighting in Gaza, differ from Mencer's.
President Elect Donald J. Trump is playing an active role even before being inaugurated.
Let's see what is going to come from this win.
