"Shabbat" is the transliteration of the Hebrew word that is usually translated as "Sabbath".
Please notice that the question, which is the title of this blog, is Not "Which day is Shabbat?".
The question is also Not "For who is the Shabbat?"
But "Whose day is the Shabbat?".
Did you know that Shabbat is owned by someone?
Did anyone ever tell you that?
Until a few years ago I didn't know it, and no one had ever told me.
Still the Sacred Scriptures tell us clearly!
Examples of that you'll find in Shemoth (Exodus) 31:13, Vayiqra (Leviticus) 19:3, Yechezq'el (Ezekiel) 20:12, and 20:20.
And the Cepheriym (Books) that are not included anymore in the canon of the Bible, also mention it.
For example: Yovheliym (Jubilees) 1:11, and Makkabiym Ri'shon (Maccabees) 10:34.
The Shabbat is YAHUAH's Day!
In His generosity YAHUAH has given six days of the seven days of each week to humankind, to do whatever we would like to do on those days, and has kept just one day of the seven days of the week to Himself: the SEVENTH day, which He called Shabbat!
If you are not ate home in Scriptures with restored names, the name YAHUAH has been hidden for centuries, changed, and replaced with other words. In most common translations of the Scriptures you'll read The LORD, in other cases the Lord, or even Heaven.
But for our cause it's enough to know that it's YAHUAH, Who is the creator of everything, and is also called by His shortened name YAH, Who also created the dimension of time.
He did that in sevens.
Seven days in a week. And the seventh day is the Shabbat.
Seven years in a week of years. And the seventh year is a year of rest, especially for agricultural lands.
Seven of these weeks, which makes fourty nine years, and the fiftieth year is a jubilee year.
Ten jubilees is a great jubilee, twelve great jubilees leads to the last millennium; 6000 years after the start of time, or six days of thousand years, brings us to the millennial reign of King Yahusha, Who is most often revered to as Jesus Christ, on earth. After that Time is up: Yahuah continues with The Elect - His chosen ones, those He finds worthy for it - in eternity, which is without time.
As you might have noticed every seventh period is dedicated to Yahuah, and His property.
And, as we approach, or are already in - depending on where you are in this world - the seventh day of the week, I would like to wish you, the reader of this blog, a blessed and restful Shabbat.
